ADHD Playbook
Operated by Playbook Wellbeing
Effective date: 13 October 2026
Playbook Wellbeing (“we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you use the ADHD Playbook mobile application (“the App”), our related services and our support channels.
ADHD Playbook is a wellbeing and self-reflection application designed to help adults explore ADHD-related experiences, understand personal patterns and access practical support tools, including the in-app AI coaching feature known as Companion.
We aim to handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and other applicable privacy laws.
By using the App, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described in this policy. Where consent is required for the collection or use of particular information, we will seek that consent as appropriate.
The information we collect depends on how you use ADHD Playbook.
We may collect:
Your email address, which is used to access your account.
Account identifiers and information needed to maintain your account.
Information you provide when contacting us for support or providing feedback.
If you complete the ADHD assessment or use personalised features, we may collect and process:
Your assessment responses.
Information about attention, focus, organisation and other ADHD-related experiences.
Assessment results, scores, profile information and personalised insights.
Information you provide to help personalise your experience.
This information may reveal sensitive information about your health or wellbeing. Please consider this before entering information into the App.
The assessment is intended to support self-reflection and wellbeing. It is not, by itself, a medical diagnosis.
When you use Companion, we may process the messages you submit and the responses generated for you. This information may include personal reflections, goals, difficulties, emotions and health-related information.
Conversation information may be used to generate responses, maintain relevant conversational context and provide personalised support within the App.
Please avoid including information that is not necessary for your use of the service, particularly identifying information about other people.
Depending on the features you use, we may process information about:
Your goals, priorities and daily focus.
Habits, completed tasks and progress.
Reminder settings and scheduled reminder details.
Reflections, check-ins and information used to personalise your experience.
Where reminders are scheduled locally on your device, the reminder content and timing may be stored on that device. Information saved to your account or synchronised with our services may also be processed on our systems.
If you purchase a subscription, payment and transaction information may be processed by Apple, Stripe or another payment provider, depending on the purchase method.
We may receive information such as subscription status, transaction identifiers and information needed to manage access to paid features. Payment providers generally handle payment-card details through their own systems.
Our systems and service providers may process technical information necessary to operate and secure the App, such as account identifiers, device or application information, diagnostic records and server logs. The precise information collected depends on the services and configurations in use.
We use personal information for purposes including:
Creating and maintaining your account.
Providing the ADHD assessment and generating results and personalised insights.
Operating Companion and generating AI-assisted responses.
Saving and retrieving your goals, habits, reminders and progress where supported.
Managing subscriptions and access to features.
Responding to support requests and feedback.
Maintaining security, preventing misuse, troubleshooting technical problems and improving the service.
Meeting legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
We do not intend to use your assessment responses or Companion conversations to provide a medical diagnosis.
We will not use sensitive information for a materially different purpose unless permitted or required by applicable law or otherwise appropriately authorised.
Companion uses artificial intelligence to generate responses to user messages. To provide this functionality, messages and relevant context may be sent to an AI service provider for processing.
The information sent may contain sensitive personal or health-related information if you include it in your messages or if it forms part of the context needed to respond.
AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your circumstances. Companion is a wellbeing and self-reflection feature, not a substitute for a qualified health professional, psychological treatment, medical advice or emergency assistance.
We do not promise that information submitted to an AI service is never retained or processed by that provider. The applicable provider terms, settings and service arrangements determine how that processing occurs.
Personal information may be stored in account databases, application systems and secure services provided by third-party technology providers.
We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, authentication, system security measures and appropriate provider arrangements.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We limit access to personal information to what is reasonably required for operating, supporting and maintaining the service.
ADHD Playbook relies on third-party services to provide some of its functionality. Depending on the feature and configuration, these may include:
Google Firebase: account authentication, data storage and related application infrastructure.
OpenAI or another AI provider: processing information needed to generate Companion responses.
Render or another hosting provider: hosting and operating backend services.
Resend or another email provider: sending service-related emails.
Apple and Stripe: processing subscriptions, transactions or payments, depending on the purchase method.
These providers may process information on our behalf or as independent service providers under their applicable terms and privacy practices.
We do not control the privacy practices of third-party services. We take reasonable steps to use appropriate providers and arrangements for the information they process.
Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States or other countries, depending on their services and configurations.
Where personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients, we will take the steps required by applicable Australian privacy law. Overseas recipients may be subject to different privacy laws from those in Australia.
You can contact us using the details in this policy if you would like further information about overseas handling of your information.
We may disclose personal information:
To service providers where necessary to operate the App.
To payment providers to process transactions and manage subscriptions.
To AI providers where necessary to generate Companion responses.
To professional advisers or authorities where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security or the establishment or defence of legal claims.
Where you have consented to the disclosure or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.
We do not sell personal information as a business model.
We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes unless you have been appropriately informed and the disclosure is permitted by law.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, fulfil the purposes described in this policy and meet applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Different information may be retained for different periods. For example, transaction records may need to be retained for accounting or legal purposes even after an account is closed.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us. We will assess and respond to the request in accordance with applicable law.
Deletion may not immediately remove information held in backups, records required by law, or information retained independently by third-party providers under their own obligations and policies. Where information must be retained, we will handle it in accordance with applicable requirements.
You may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
We will respond within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable privacy law. In some circumstances, the law may permit or require us to refuse access or correction; if so, we will explain the reasons where required.
You can choose what information you provide to ADHD Playbook. However, if you do not provide information needed for a particular feature, that feature may not function as intended.
You can choose not to use the assessment or Companion features. You should avoid entering information you do not want processed as described in this policy.
You may also contact us with questions about your information, account or available deletion options.
ADHD Playbook is designed primarily for adults. It is not intended to be used by children in circumstances where parental consent or other safeguards would be required unless those arrangements have been established.
If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can assess the situation and take appropriate action.
If you believe we have handled your personal information inappropriately, please contact us and explain your concern.
We will acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints, seek further information where necessary and respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
